Apparently some of you people read a different copy of this book than I did. You see, the one I read was simply horrible. What you would consider well-written, many would consider just too wordy. I'll admit, the story WAS rather complex, but 59 chapters? Honestly, there's just no need for that. I would recommend this book only to extremely bored (and overly sensitive) females. I can't think of one other group of people that would actually derive even a remote sense of pleasure from reading this book. The only happy moment I had in the entire book was the end, when Tess dies. I couldn't help but think "Oh thank God, no more chapters, praise Jesus" I'm telling you folks, no book (especially this one) will ever change your life. It's just not going to happen. You may THINK that it changed your life, but all it did was take away precious hours. Life is short, watch the movie and then go do something worthwhile. Thank you.
