BNW is a look at the what future would be like with the humanist paradigm. Where man thinks he is or they are God, but have not developed the moral restraint to be God. It is the human is view that man can control all of the problems and find all solutions. But in the end man creates the biggest problem that of control of others, which is put in conflict that of free will. Where as God's Ideal is that of self mastery and and the free choose to do that which is good. Savage decided that self mastery when face with the tyrrany of the controlled state. "Give me Liberty or give me death" It is better to be master of one's self than to be a mindless drone of control.
