I read this book a long time ago, and now am re-reading it to compare it to "the handmaids tale"-Margret Attwood, and was visitng this website to see if i could find a translation for the small french extract at the start (any help would be appreciated). I then read some of the things people had mentioned, and thought i would add my own idea. The book is not about the future, God or genetics, nor is it about society. These are merely the vehicle Huxley uses to explain his point. That life is not about enjoyment, but experience and intensity. Pleasure is not enough to satisfy a person, he does not say whether this is found through religion, love or by any other means, only that it is necessary. <br>sorry if this bores you.
