We have just began the "Brave New World" novel. This book is all about the downfalls of society. One problem with society which the book discusses is the pursuit of immediate gratification, an example of this in the novel is seen through their relationships. They have no long term monogomous relationships, they are in them for the immediate gratification through sex. The lust for immediate gratification may cause us to head in the way the novel suggests. An example of this is the mainstreaming of things which are forms of immediate gratification. Things like strippers or prostitution were once tabo parts of society, but now they are more mainstream and almost acceptable. This relates to the novel because sex for them is mainstream and very acceptable, if parts of our society keep becoming casual and acceptable we may very well end up in a "Brave New World."<br><br> Peace out Boyd
