In the silence, interposed,
the laughing dances,
the wilting rose,
came birdsong, water calling;
sudden, so far away.
Upon the headland, rising bright,
the spinning joy,
the raindrop upon the leaf;
came windsong and quiet calling,
somehow, so dear in us.
Now the mists enfold all.
There is nothing to do but wait,
with an immense gratitude.
the laughing dances,
the wilting rose,
came birdsong, water calling;
sudden, so far away.
Upon the headland, rising bright,
the spinning joy,
the raindrop upon the leaf;
came windsong and quiet calling,
somehow, so dear in us.
Now the mists enfold all.
There is nothing to do but wait,
with an immense gratitude.
