The interesting thing that I noticed was that the poeple in this book are conditioned to be consumers. However, since there is just one "world Gov.", there really is no point for them to be such major conusmers. Wheres all the money made form this going? nowhere. There is nothing outside of this state. If they need something they only have to ask for it to recive it. For example, the DHC in London needs 500 wigets from south africa. If he pays for them, the money is not chaning hands. it still belongs to the same world gov. Thus, why bother being consumers. the only thing that it does is depleate the resources faster. other than that I really liked this book.

Happiness is an ideal that, in someway we are all looking for, now the issue is what is the correct instrument to achieve such happiness. In deed, to achieve something we have to sacrifice something else. Now, here the sacrifice lies in the inability for those happy people to be sad, or excited, nothing but happiness. It’s all packed, and placed in such way that the possibility of a mistake or a sacrifice simply doesn’t exist, and if there’s the strange case of someone who’s feeling different, well you got a pill to start to feel better or in the most extreme cases he or she can be isolated, because someone or something different is clearly a danger to stability.
Brave New World is a warning for all those romantic people, ever searching for happiness, but that eternal search implies at the end has a cost, now the question is are this individuals willing to give up anything to get happiness, or some. And after al what happiness does mean if you really don’t who know who you are? What’s the sense in all that?
