well, if he was a junkie, it doesn't matter, it was his life and you shouldn't mind. Religion is hipocrytal as well so i don't see too much of a problem

Throughout Brave New World, Huxley seems to say that the use of drugs to maintain happiness is ridiculous, and the feeling of happiness that one gets when one uses them is falsified. Mustapha calls this soma, "Christainity without tears." I was upset to find that this author, who seemed to speak so against the use of drugs, got into LSD because it gave him the "religious feeling" without all the hassles of meditating. How hipocritical!
