I just finished reading the Idiot and it was one of the best books i've ever read. I needed a book for an English I.S.U. and just happened to pick it up (all my friends thought i was nuts!) However, now i'm glad i took the time to read because once again, Dostoevsky is brilliant! I too am fascinated with Myshkin - how he was so trusting of everyone no matter what they did to him. I think Dostoevsky really succeeded to make a "good" person, with regards to our human nature of course. The tragic ending is shocking, but ultimately, unavoidable i think. It's sad, but our world does not a accept a person who looks for good in everyone and is not cruel. They are considered "idiots"<br> I also found the character of Nastasya fascinating. She is such a victim, yet in the end, makes Myshkin a victim to her selfishness. A doomed character from the start<br>Anyway, if you take the time to read it the idiot is an awesome book
