This critique has some things right.
1) Yes, Dostoevsky does a wonderful job of painting amazing charachter and depth.
2) It has the storyline right

BUT!
Myshkin is anything but an uneducated man. Throughout the story there comes up numerous debates. At which Myshkin, through which I believe Dost. uses as a conduit for his own beliefs but none-the-less take on the form of Myshkins personality, is brought about amazing points of insight.
The reason Aglaya falls in love with Myshkin is because in Myshkin, Aglaya finds a teacher.
The reason for Myshkin's calling card for idiocy is because of his social ineptness...but, and I do mean anything BUT, his lack of knowledge in other fields.
