I am in grade eight and was forced to read it in French. I have read it before though in English and in general, I liked it. Some times, it was as if Jules didn't want the story to progress anymore. That's how slowly it goes sometimes. Getting up until Snaeffels is boring a bit but then after that it becomes pretty interesting. In some chapters, if you don't read carefully enough though you get lost. I liked it and generally would recommend it to those who prefer classics. There is also a strong vocabulary to be gained from it. I would give it an 8.5/10.
