I felt sorry for Dorian. It seemed in the beginning as if he was only vaguely aware of his beauty and charm. It was Lord Wotton who convnced him that beauty mattered above all things. And in that one moment when he lost his head and wished his wish it was granted. He only did what any of us would of done had a wish we had made in utter desperation had been granted. it's like all the books that explore the twists of human nature.
