I think that this book just hasn't gotten across to its demograph (according to the reviews i have read so far). I think that either a person isn't in the mindset of the book or they don't like realism. This book doesn't present what's pretty, it shows the loss of the "american dream" and some peopl just don't like that. As a reader, I would have ended it differently, but the book did precisely what it aimed and I think that alone makes it a good book.
