I too had to read this depressing bit of drama for a lit class. It was a very painful experience watching thing unfold and knowing (somewhat) where they are going. Death would have been the better ending to all concerned. Of all the hell's on earth that a person can experice, the hell that Ethan must endure is beyond anything I ever imagined. You know that he yearns for the silence that death will bring.<br>This is not the type of book that I would enjoy reading on a cold winter night.
