This book/analogy, cannot have been more well read and accurate, of the trials and tribulations that "searchers" go through. I was both deeply moved and encaptivated, from the very first word to the last one. I would strongly recommend this book, to anyone who has a heart that searches for truth, and years for internal peace.<br><br>

It is a great book, I agree. It is helpful to remember that it is all made-up conjecture by Herman Hesse and NOT a religious text, however. I imagine a good number of Buddhists would find it offensive, if they, well, found things offensive.

How much truth you're willing to put into the book basically defines how existential you are. Personally, I like the book a lot and was deeply moved when I first read it.
