When I was told about this book I was kinda reserved to think I would enjoy it. I had no idea what to expect, I'm not a person who knows of religion so I figured I would get bored and put it down. As I read the first chapter, I had to keep reading. It interested me so much with what Siddartha went through, making me relate so many things from the story to my own life.
I can say that I have always been a thinker, thinking too much about things at times. So reading this book really made me think about life and the meaning of everything. Siddartha realised that he couldn't become who he wanted to only through the teaching of others but through all of those experiences and opening himself to new things, the Samanas, Buddha, living as regular person with the money, lust and greed that comes with it, to the river who brings him peace, his son being the first person he felt he acually loved. So maybe Siddhartha had to experience all these different things for himself, live life, be who he was.. a seeker with deep thoughts in order to reach that savation he was looking for.
The difference this book has to real life is that it ends, it ends before Siddartha ever does so there is no knowing as to how long he went feeling that way or if another stage of his self evolving, continued.
