The marriage lasted,
lilies opening
year after year
in a fishbowl vase,
the water somehow staying clear.

A man and a woman
stare straight through each other
while f ucking

Above them the angels watch,
they are perfect, Picasso mouths parting
as if are singing softly

The man and woman don’t notice.
They fade, slowly, willingly,
moving into each other

And the angels, at last,
fold their wings
and drop toward them

falling stars.

Not a fan of expletives in poetry: Here you paint a bleak carnal union without love that heralds the fallen angels of heaven... a sensual-mindedness that reflects so much of society today - that it endures is at least something.
