Tight winter sting
from chest to scapulae
sinks
as the hour folds.
A lone shadow
softens the snow.

(for Stately and all my poetry friends then - I mean, if you like it)

The specificity of scapulae grounds the emotion in anatomy, making the feeling unavoidable and intimate. love it

Hi Bar !... enjoyed your poem, especially "A lone shadow / softens the snow." :) I'm not a fan of snow nor cold and so far we've been blessed only with copious amounts of rain, but I'll think of your poem when it does, inevitably, snow :)

Ta ! (short for tarradiddle),

thank you tonywalt, "scapulae" invited itself into the lines, am glad it worked for you, and that, precisely as I felt it would/could...
