“Siddhartha”, written by Hermann Hesse is an extraordinary depiction of a sacred story. It is hard to believe that a German-born Hesse could tell an Asian religious tale so vividly. However, Hesse’s accuracy to actual accounts is not entirely true. The story tells of the journey of a simple Brahma, Siddhartha, attempting to find self-realization.The journey of Siddhartha, who in my opinion, is of a young man in search of the meaning of his life. The young man will soon know of new and amazing ideals he never new of. This is my opinion on the philosophy of Hesse’s, “Siddhartha”. Nearly each person who reads this story will find and pick out different points and views from it. The philosophy is solely based on the readers’ own analysis.
