View Full Version : Why can't many Jews simply accept Jesus as the Messiah?

It worries me a lot to know that many Jews still reject Jesus as the Messiah. In his days, the Scribes and Pharisees rejected him as the promised Messiah. They failed to understand the scriptures properly, and out of hypocrisy, they rejected the truth.

“He came unto his own, and his own received him not.” — John 1:11 (KJV)

Sadly, in our generation, many Jews still reject Christ's divinity. I hope they read Isaiah 53, which talks about the promised Messiah and his suffering with an unbiased heart.

Let's look at Paul’s prophecy about Israel’s salvation:

“I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in,
and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written:
‘The Deliverer will come from Zion;
He will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.’” —Romans 11:25–27

Christianity cane out of Judiasm. I therefore pray that God touch the hearts of unbelieving Jews to see the truth in this. Jesus is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings. He is coming soon.

Religions evolve Anthony and the majority of followers either do not believe in a God, or are comfortable with the religion they were born into, or brought up in.

For example Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet, but Muhammad was God's Messenger.

All the original Apostles were Jews converted to Christianity. From there evolved a mish mash of different Christian sects, ( e.g. Gnostics) of which Catholicism became predominant.

Why should Jews believe that this Jesus (also known as Yahshuah bin Yosef) is Masiach? The Bible claims he would re-appear to establish the Kingdom as per II Samuel 7:11-16 et seq. But he never showed and a country that calls itself "Israel" sprang up without his authorization. By the way, the Bible also indicates he will re establish the Kingdom peacefully while "Israel" came through war and violence. Jesus's ministers are supposed to be able to heal the sick, raise the dead, walk on water, tame stormy oceans, and perform even greater miracles than he performed. But we do not see any of these things going on today. Therefore, he could not possibly be Messiah or Masiach according to biblical teaching. Thus, no surprise as to why they do not accept him as Christians do.
