Irony

I thought Siddhartha was a great piece of work, but alittle ironic. Throughout the story Siddhartha objects to doctrines and teachings of others, but isn't that in essence what the book is? It is another's voyage, and not the reader's own. It is everything that Siddhartha does not agree with.
