I read this first when i was 14 and again when 19. I don't care if the translation to english wasn't sufficient, i loved this book and always will. It's one of the greatest books for figuring things out on your own. the path siddhartha takes is quite common for many people. I thought the ideas and thoughts in the book were spoken beautifully, especially the last conversation with his long lost friend. If anyone's interested in a modern siddhartha setting, check out "The Way of The Peacefull Warrior" by Dan Millman. Very similar coarse of events but set in modern college times at Berkely College, CA.
