Gaze to the west from my high perch,
to where the sun descends
behind those hills.
Dragging my heart towards that glow
that burnishes the sea
and haunts the air.
With the dusk comes the warm twilight
that links my soul to all
those others there.
Release my grip on want, need.
In that gold light I can
forget my ills.
