i studied this book for a year 11 assessment - not that important.. but i was quite bored with it at first.. it is hard to get past all the DESCRIBING... paragraphs and pages of describing one scenario is more than enough to make ones mind wonder whilst they are reading it..<br>however i do think that the underlying message of the novel is a good one, and it is understandable that Conrad uses his 'proper' english (that most some bogans wouldnt and dont even try to understand) because English was not his first language- thus he learnt the very formal way of speaking and writing the English language- <br>overall .. i semi enjoyed the book, and it annoys me how people try to rip it because they dont understand Conrads formal way of writing... <br>just because your illiterate doesnt mean the book is bad :)<br> -Me
