After we have read the novella "The Heart Of Darkness" we should stop a while and, beside regarding the events in it as a journey to the inner side of human psychology, we should have a different approach to the events such as an imperialistic aspect as well. Kurtz symbolizes the idea of Europan colonization. At first read he has some admirable points of view as the narrator, Marlow, has a great admire at. But on the other hand, the missirable death of Kurtz reflects the unavoidably consequence of this admirable idea in practice. In the end of the novella Marlow plays his part to give consolation prize to the planter by conveying Kurtz last words, "your name"- the consolation, in stead of "the actual truth is too dark"- the unavoidable consequence too far from the expectations, to the woman-the expectants.
