I will not forget you,
you swam out to sea
Spitting salt, horse dancing
Screaming get me out.
Up and down like a fisherman's float
Crazy in your eyes
Like you were never coming home
To the hug of a warm towel
Thrashing like there were drums
Sea urchins for eyes
Tentacles around your silky thighs
Mouth wide
Drinking it in
I will not forget you
I waved as you caught my eye
I mouthed I L Y
And wiggled my toes in the sand
Only you were in the sea
But from deep below
Blind fish thrashed and fought
To take you down
I took a bite of my ice cream flake
And watched you go.




I never forgot how your hair
Disappeared
