What Is Your Favorite Literary Feud??

What is your favorite literary feud and why? I dig H. G. Wells vs. Henry James. The latter was into art for art's sake. But Wells wanted to change people's consciousness and thereby change the world. It is a difference of opinion but you have to have a well-argued point of view.

I cant say im familiar with any literary feuds, although maybe if someone showed me a comprehensive list of them I would go "ah, yes, that's right."

in the meantime though, did wells and James actually "fight" with each other?

Can't say that I had a "favorite" in this regard but do remember the dispute between Gore Vidal and Norman Mailer. This because of their different views on feminism. Vidal in favor of it with Mailer opposed to it.
