although the first 10 chapters were difficult to get through and staying awake during these was a challenge, the book was remarkable. sinclairs use of realism and his presentation of socialism was right on target. he captured the difficulties of the time period perfectly. and the parts about the meat packing industry regardless of how horrifying they were, that was the truth.
