Rain's been in my prayers - I'm giddy, overjoyed !
Yet, just the threat of snow gives me pause

... and then started each line with a word starting with the letter corresponding to that line... trying to use poetics...

L1 starts with 'j' so I randomly chose a word starting with 'j' and kept building from there:
