The Jungle is an excellent book and is meant to do more than depress and disgust the reader. Sinclair wanted to shed light on the disparate conditions of factory workers and to show the unsanitary food preparation that was commonplace at the time. He succeeded and brought about changes in both of these areas. This book can make a person think about changes that still need to be made today. It think every person in a management position should be required to read this.
