It is my belief that Anne Bronte took relative occurences from her own life to write this tragically beautiful novel. The Bronte sisters are not known for happy endings however. Each scene within this novel offers the reader the advantage of feeling emotions running high. This form of authorship was rare for not only a women writer but also for the time period. Although the Brontes did write with male pseudonyms.
