A shorter snippet inspired by M4ngos haikus. Though not in the haiku fashion, it's not often I feel the liberty to write something so condensed. Its fun and challenging. Thank you m4ngo for sharing your snippets. Hope you keep adding to your collection.
Oh, how I wanted to touch the sun!
Or, at least, lay prostrate at his feet.
But the closer I flew to his scorching rays
the truer it felt,
we were never meant to meet.
So I worship him from afar,
feeling a love eternally incomplete.
Still feeling a radiating warmth
between our estranged worlds
from the safe heights of my dreams.
