This novel is phenominal!

I LOVE IT!

Read it after seeing the musical (which, naturally, I fell in love with). Loved it. The deepest, most compelling story of the human race.

I love Gavroche in the novel; he's so underused in the musical (understandably though). In the novel, he is seriously the best character (after Eponine, who really personifies "The Miserables").

I'm so happy to be on this site and see that other young people (7th graders, 8th graders such as myself, highschool students, etc.) like it too, I was beginning to get a little discouraged.

Question: Did Victor Hugo ever actually say (or write) the words "To love another person is to see the face of God,"?
