i am a seventh grader who cannot read enough books! I was awed by Les Miserables, both the musical and the book. Victor Hugo is an absolute genius! My mother has loved musicals and literature and history, so I get it all from her. I spent the majority of my life without a male father figure, so I am greatly influenced by her. The book and musical are wonderful!! Thenardiers ruthlessness, Gavroches strength and courage, Fantines fight for the life of her daughter, Cossettes and Eponines fight through life looking for a certain love, while Eponine is denied any love, Cossette is fueled by love. And of course, Valjean and Javert. Valjean struggles with the run and confrontations with the father of Cossette(Javert). Javert to follow the ultimate rules of his life and capture Valjean. Javert is constantly reminded of going to hell when he dies and finally kills himself in a lake of water. oops, talked too long, g2g!
