I am a grade 10 student and have just finished reading this novel. I found it to be an eye opener on the lives of the Russian aristocracy during the Napoleonic Wars. I enjoyed how Tolstoy included Peirre as a somewhat autobiographical character. I have heard from numerous people that Tolstoy does the same with Levin in Anna Karenina. I have enjoyed War and Peace immensly and look forward to reading some of Tolstoy's other works.
