I would just like some clarification, The three musketeers, which is clearly labeled Volume I, is then followed by Volume II: Twenty Years After, however, the third book Volume III, is titled, in the original catologues, Le Viscomte de Bragelonne, however, in a few of the editions of the man in the iron mask that i ouwn, specifically the older ones, it is labeled Volume III, and the pages read, Le Viscomte De Bragelonne. i was just looking for soem verification that the title was merely changed in translation, as i am making a list of the older titles i have undetr the original names, thank you if anyone can tell me that they are the same book, and the title was merely chanmged in the english translation

I don't think anybody but Mercedes removed herself from Dantes life. With him gone, she just jumped into marriage with Fernand. I thought it was prettty sleazy. And if she really cared about him, she would have taken care of his father, and perhaps prevented his death.

I hate to disagree with the comment made by tlp_98 but Villefort didn't try to remove Dantes from Mercedes life. Villefort sent Dantes to jail to protect his father M. Nortier and his own reputation. Fernand is the one who conspires to remove Dantes from Mercede's life because he wishes to be with her.
