Alhambra
Loreena Mckennitt did a concert in this courtyard - I bought it on DVD and it is amazing. It shows much of the interior and exterior of the structure - such a beautiful place.
I have seen some of that concert. Just ordered the DVD from Amazon. I like the building, will go there in near future. This picture shows the thoroughly Oriental aspect of Alhambra whereas in the next picture it does not stand much different from many Medieval European buildings. East and the West meet in this architecture, a good representative of the birthplace of not only the European Renaissance but also the European multiculturalism. Most of the cultural texts were burned after the reconquista but architecture remains a very effective and eloquent witness to the greatness of al Andalusia.
