She's an amazing hunter... even though she's older (for a hawk). She puts some of the young ones to shame!

wow she's gorgeous! so majestic. I love hawks (and all birds of prey)

How did you get into working with birds?

She is a beauty. We see red tailed hawks, golden eagles
and even a few bald eagles around our cabin in Hamblin
Valley Utah. There are also smaller hawks, but I am not
sure what species. Many owls, large and small, make their
homes around us. It can be dangerous for the feral cats
and even small dogs out in the open. I have never seen a
cat taken, when they disappear it could be coyotes, but
cats who survive to be old are wary of their surroundings.
We had neighbors loose a dog to a golden eagle while they
    watched.

Yes, it can be dangerous for household pets. I have a little Westie and always worried about him that way when I lived on Vancouver Island. There are so many eagles there and I lived on a small acreage which Mac (my dog) loved to explore daily. He is a bunny hunter lol. My daughter once had a bunny taken right off our balcony in St. Catharines Ontario by an eagle. Still, they are spectacular. I just adore raptors! I have often said that looking one in the eyes is like looking into the eyes of God. It can be quite a humbling experience.
