Why does Heathcliff has to be so obstinately mad?

Reading Wuthering Heights. Covered about more than the half of the book. I wish his anger goes away by now ...

Heathcliff's anger is definetly something to wish to go away...but it's a big part of him,so it can't really vanish.Reading the book and thinking of the whole situation,I started to believe that Heathcliff is mere evil and full of hatred&anger.Considering that he was brought up in a hostile environment, having only 2 people who loved him (Catherine and old Earnshaw),his rage is not at all reasonless;although his whole essence was potentially rough. However,it's obvious that he loved Catherine a lot.So much that it drove him mad. He's done a lot of harm to Catherine after she married Linton because of his personality, and because his main goal was hurting Linton, which lead to hurting Catherine. After her death he missed her so much he wanted her to haunt him so he can see her again. So personally I think that love made Heathcliff do silly and unlike him things: have a less cruel feeling towards another person, hurting his loved one and many others which you'll find out after finishing the book.
