Insanity

Hi everyone!

I'm new here. I found this site while doing research for an essay. We're supposed to choose an author, and write about the rhetorical strategies they use and the decisions they make in their writing to show the insanities of their characters. I'm using Poe.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

You could try reading "The Tell-tale Heart". The narrator says that he is not insane as he was able to plan a crime well but he admits that there is no motive, proving his insanity.

For a lesser-known work, you could try "Berenice".

I think that you will be able to write the essay afterwards.
