    Edward III

Should'nt we have a sub-forum for Edward III? It has been admitted to the canon and look at this extract from a book:

Edward III has only been recently admitted into the Shakespeare canon. The play was long thought to be the work of one or more anonymous actors or stage hands, but in the late 1990s leading scholars decided to add it to the Bard's canon. Even so, it is unlikely he penned the entire play. Probably written around 1590 and 1594, with Holinshed's Chronicles and Froissarts' Chronicles of France as it's main sources., it was first published in 1596. Shakespeare was probably moved to write it by his purported jealousy of Christopher Marlowe, who at the time of his murder in 1593, was the better known playwright. But while Marlowe's Edward II caused a sensation in its day, Shakespeare's Edward III was ill-fated. With James VI of Scotland set to succeed Queen Elizabeth, it was soon banned beacuse of its scornful treatment of the Scots.
