Huck Finn essay

I have a paper due tomorrow that I've been trying very hard to do without any help, but I've run into a stumbling block. I need to come up with different reasons why Huck is the moral center of the story and in what capacity is Mark Twain writing an anti-slavery novel. Any help would be appreciated.

Huck was always taught that black people were nothing but property. He "befriends" Jim originally for help to get away from Pap, but as the story progresses they actually become real friends. Jim treats Huck like his son, and cares for him, but Huck treats Jim as a friend and plays jokes and mean tricks on him. As the story goes on, Huck realizes that Jim also has feelings and cares about his family, "like a white man would care about his own". Huck starts to respect Jim, and when someone turns Jim in as a runaway slave, Huck and Tom try to free him. Huck's plan to free Jim is straight-forward, while Tom's is cruel and mean (putting rats and snakes in his cell) and takes a long time. Huck learns to care about Jim and at one point even said something like "If helping him means I'm going to hell, then damnit, I'm going to hell".
Also! Huck has morals because when he meets up with the King and Duke, he doesn't try to fall in with their scams and make money. He disagrees throughout that whole part of the story, and recognizes that they are frauds right from the get-go. He has an... awakening, i guess, and tries to steal the money from the king and duke to give back to the girls they stole it from when pretending to be the wilks brothers.
Hucks thoughts battle constantly between what he believes is right and true and what society says is right.

But even though Huck and Jim are friends they both think each other as two different people.
