The Plight of a Rose
Would anyone weep for rose
the beauty so oft squandered
ever made to put on a pose
silently a rose must suffer
Does anyone think of its plight
always its love stolen bit by bit
until poor rose is left in blight
silently a rose must suffer
Twisted into another's use
selfishly petals plucked away
bent and broken with abuse
silently a rose must suffer
Always dragged into some ones verse
a rose cannot just be a rose
its beauty ever made perverse
silently a rose must suffer
Who ponders how a rose may feel
always made into a symbol
as if its very soul they steal
silently a rose must suffer
