do you believe in all those theories connected with the signs of zodiac? for example that they determine your character or ways of behaving? i've read somewhere that my sign (gemini) is the most malicious one...![]()

In dreams begin responsibilities.
i definitely do believe in all that stuff, even if there is no scientific proof for its existence. i had a friend of mine once do a starsign chart thing for me, and it was eerily accurate, down to information that there was no way he could have known, like erogenous zones (not like the 'everybody's got em' erogenous zones, but MINE). was creepy just because he had all sorts of information about me that i was unwilling to acknowledge to myself, even while i know it is true (you know, all that stuff about yourself that is less than pure and righteous?that's what he knew... )
anyhow, i have no way of proving or disproving the ties to the stars, but when i think about the vastness of the universe and then inter-connectedness of all the living things on earth...i cant imagine that there is nothing connecting us to the larger picture.

Then we sat on the edge of the earth, with our feet dangling over the side, and marvelled that we had found each other.
I don't buy into it. *shrug* Tea leaves, Ouija boards, and the zodiac...all seems the same to me.
If you had to live with this you'd rather lie than fall.

Nah... not really...It makes me curious etc, but I don't think there's much truth... Especially horoscopes in magazines lol, like the same thing would happen to all the people born under that sign... Sometimes I like to think that people born in the same period have something in common or so, but I don't think there's anything deep or to be taken as a general truth...

As for the question, I belive that your sign may influence who you are, but necessarily everything involved in that sign will relate to you. For example, my sign says I like to shop and I hate to.
i agree with your points, kiwi and koa, but i think that there is more to it than just reading what the general sign has to say. people who do readings are very precise about gathering data re: where, exactly, you were born, and what time and so on, as one born in europe will be under a different influence than one born in north america.
the star sign itself is just a generality. (in fact there are thirteen, not twelve, zodiak signs. the fact that the thirteenth is not included for some reason is generally used by scientists to refute the idea of astrology being a science.)
the thing is, location and timing is very important to decipher whereabouts in your star sign your birth took place, and is used to determine information regarding your personality and characteristics. i think it would be advisable to actually have a complete reading done based on that information before deciding whether or not there is anything to it....
i find this funny in a way, because i have very few concrete beliefs about things that require faith. its just that the readings that i have had done are so eerily correct *shudder* that i cant help but thinkt there is more to it than a bunch of people writing crap up in an editorial office.

What's the 13th zodiac sign?
I think that depends on the culture. I know that the Celts and Chinese have 13, as there are 13 moons in a year, but I didn't think that the standard zodiac had 13....
But I'd rather my sign be Willow than Aries anyway. I find the celtic astrology to fit me better.
And we laughed at the stars while our feet clung tight to the ground, so pleased with ourselves for using so many verbs and nouns.

i taught myself to do charts in the ninth grade; astrology done right is very exact, informative, and mathematical.
i don't have any interest in it anymore, but i also don't take the sun sign someone happens to be as very informative, either. i also rarely tell someone what mine is, because i just end up figuratively rolling my mind's eye when they start spouting stuff about them/me based on that.
hm. not to be rude.
shh!!!
the air and water have been here a long time, and they are telling stories.
Oh, very cool, thanksOriginally Posted by verybaddmom

Yeah I know the 'professional' readings require very precise info etc, but I think I've had a couple of those from different people just for curiosity, and they weren't too accurate nor were the same, so I assume there are many ways of learning that and they're not all necessarily too good...

One of my friends read tarot cards for fun, she is pretty good at it...
koa, i dont think that's any different than any body of knowledge really....for example, you can go to three different doctors for the same condition and get three different diagnosis and opinions (or for that matter five different piercers!). i dont think its any different; all information is open to interpretation.
please dont take it like im trying to change your mind....that's not my intention at all.
and also, i have a set of russian gypsy fortune telling cards, which are similar to tarot. when i do readings for other people, it doesnt seem to be all that great, but when i do readings for myself...eerie. the night before my bf left for his army training course, i was sitting on the floor doing a reading for myself while he sat on the couch polishing his boots (he's forever polishing the boots!) and i was turning up cards on "separation due to circumstance", and "relationship interruption due to physical distance", and i even drew one that said i needed to get out and socialize to avoid lonliness and alienation due to lack of people close to me right now. we both thought that was pretty cool.
