The last episode of Sopranos - *spoiler warning*

What did you all think about the last episode of the Sopranos? I've watched the Sopranos on and off, but when I caught this last episode I thought I'd share my thoughts on it, because it really did show the lyric moment.

The ending was just magnificent. For me it was like watching the lyric moment transpose itself on the viewer. All I thought about watching the last scene of Tony, his wife, his son(AJ), and his daughter Meadow(outside trying to parallel park), was the customers. Watching a lone customer come in, then another lone customer(with Italian features, it seemed), then two African American customers come in, was filling my mind with thoughts and worries about what one of these customers might possibly do to Tony or his family…then into my mind comes a quote from AJ when addressing his father, which went something like “just focus on the good times.” I mean, wow! Not only did this message resonate in the context of the storyline, but on me, the viewer, as well. It’s like all this time I’m watching this scene and worrying about what might go wrong that I, myself, am filling my head with only worrying thoughts. And then the abrupt ending, the black screen, leaves those worries lingering in my mind.

I loved it too. It stuck to its core as being a psychological drama, and Tony turns out victorious. My wife didn't care for it. She felt let down. She was expecting a blood bath.

There were a *lot* of scenes tying up 'loose ends'! I thought Paulie was going to whack Tony there for a while when he was talking about the cat and the Virgin Mary and stuff

You're right it sure was 'tricky', I too was thinking hmmm maybe there will be an awful bloodbath in the diner en famille but then I remembered it was introduced as "Family Above All". The blackout at the end as Meadow approaches the door suggested it's up to you to decide what happened next. So I felt kinda ripped off but it was also as usual a brilliant David Chase twist.

I've canceled my subscription to HBO. I have never felt so cheated in my life.
They didn't END the series....they just STOPPED.

Maybe not whack, but definitely turn Tony over to the authorities. Since the cat only detected rats, the part where the cat was laying facing Paulie did suggest that he was a rat as well.
