    Abortion: Yay or Nay?

Ok, it's time to bring up the all-feared word: Abortion.

I'm sure I'll get a hailstorm on this one, but since that's what I usually try to give I think this little thread will be quite fun.

My question is: Should abortion be legalized or outlawed?

Personally, I am pro-choice and I don't think the Church should sneak into the law by having abortion outlawed. The controversy, of course, revolves around whether or not life begins at conception. The Church's, and most prolifer's view, is that life begins at the moment of conception. Therefore, abortion is murder. First of all, we need to recognize that it is a Christian/Catholic backed motion to outlaw abortion. Therefore, we would all be forced to conform to those religious views within the law. Does anybody see the church/state separation coming closer and closer together?

Secondly, it really is the mother's choice as to what she wants. I believe that conception brings something that is part of the woman's body. When it comes out of a womb, it's a child. So, until birth, the woman has the prerogative to say, "I need to change my own body."

I think Rowe v. Wade decision needs to stay the way it is. If you're pro-choice, get an abortion. If you're pro-life, don't. But don't take away someone's right to get an abortion because you are religious and feel like imposing your beliefs on others. This country is for democracy, not religion. A government with religious beliefs is a Theocracy, and we're getting closer to that every day. Justice is for the courts, morality is for the pulpit.

    Any comments?
Name? Dissent is my name, and it is I who plagues the realm of tranquility in this tangible world which we call life. My identity is that which articulates the nature of my personality. Therefore you may call me dissent. Ahhh the amusement of the intellectually blind! The splendor of those who speak but know not! How the folly of human views have perverted the truth, such a melancholy tale is this! No, there is nothing left now. Merely the remnants of dark clarity.

    Isn't abortion anti-darwinian?
