BUMP! Come on, I'd like to see people answer this. I think it a worthy cause. I suppose I shouldn't answer it, since I'm not an adolescent. But I will do it to encourage others, and because I answer everything, like the lemming I am.

I forget how old the Forum is, so I can't answer that.

Sometimes I take breaks, but usually almost every day.

All the time. I post on about half of the threads I read.

Almost never. When I do, it's usually because someone said, "That's a good topic. Why don't we start a new thread about it?" Usually in General Chat.

Almost never. Sometimes I do, if I've written a lot but am not finished editing, and want to go do something away from the computer before I post.

5. In what kind of situation will you use emoticons?
All of them! If it's a casual conversation, I use them a lot; if it's a serious discussion, I use one or two smileys to let others know I'm not angry, if I fear my sentiment might be misunderstood.

6. What advantages do you think you had gained from joining a literature forum?
I've made lots of friends, and I also enjoy talking about the books I read. But I mostly enjoy talking with other people who are well-read, and who share the common interest of literature. The people here are generally kinder, less rude, and more interesting than people I've met on other types of forums.

- Gaining new insight into books I've read
- Discovering new books that I should/am going to read
- Reading fantastic short stories/poetry that people post - which is sometimes the best inspiration for a writer
- Reading rather interesting and insightful arguments and conversations which help further inspire writing ideas.
- Broadening my perspective of the word (go open-mindedness!)
- Finding out the opinions and thoughts of people so dedicated to literature

4. How often do you type your comment in word processor before pasting it in here? Only did it a few times when I was debating Unnamable in a philosophy thread. It takes too much effort. If people don't like my spontaneous word order, creative grammer, or original spelling, well then too bad.

5. In what kind of situation will you use emoticons? Usually to emphasize an emtion or to make sure I'm kidding when it could be misinterpreted.

I love the discussions (I love literature), I love the people here even those whom I've disagreed passionately with, I love learning about people from other countries, and I love the young people here, who seem so much like me at there age. BTW, I love the older people too. I'm not the only fuddy-duddy here.

Very rare. And though usually I post threads on a lighter topic, I have been known to post in the Religious Texts section and in the Book Club.

Learn more about different books, discuss literary texts with other members, which helps form one's own point of view and exchange ideas with others. Encourages love of reading and even writing...and finally, being part of Online Lit. means a lot of good company.

Unspar. It's the name I use in every electronic area, mostly because I can count on it not being in use already.

A whole lot. Probably around 10 times a day. I get very bored at work, and I end up relieving my boredom here. I couldn't tell you why.

I mostly just check the threads with recent responses. That's easy.

Mostly relief of boredom, but as opposed to other forums, it's relief of boredom with something I care a great deal about. I've learned a lot about religion, particular books, the philosophy of art. It gives me ideas to react to, and I don't really have that outlet many other places.
