    The Person Above you...

Ok kids, here's another great way to boost your post counts, for those of you addicted to the forae and love to see your name in lights... :P

The point of this is... you have to say something kind/flattering or something you've come to know of the poster above you. A way of getting to know each other around here too. Tho' this entails you've been taking notes, actually paying attention to the people you've seen posting and what they have to say. I'll start it off with an imaginary post by Dyrwen above me...

Dyrwen is really quite poetic and creative and he has a great website with lots of images and stuff and you should check him out!

(So, now of course the next poster here will have to post something about me... :P as you can't write something about yourself... )

Den is my pastey-white neighbor to the North. I love her taste in fashion. Once, I laughed at her black turtle necks until she told me they were 100% Badafucho (sp?) fiber. Now she's an idol of status. . . .

[Question: could I respond later and get more compliments? ]

You want more compliments? :P You can post as many times as you want silly ! ... and with that, I know Abdo is really downright sweet and kind, he likes to be ascerbic and ironic to confuse and get debates going sometimes, but don't worry, he has soft underbelly just like the rest of us.

(oh, and I don't know what the hell `Badafucho' is but I prefer mohair sweaters, black of course. :P )

[You can just call me 'sweetheart' from now on, mmkay? ]

Den is like créme brulee: one side is dark and hardened, but the other is cool and sweet.

The Duality of Den: yes, that one goes out to all you Jungian-obsessed beatniks (Rotty ).

Awww I just can't get enough of reading Abdo's posts ...as I said somewhere else, he'd make anything from wasted paper to a grain of sand (identical to all his grain-brothers) sound interesting

Koa is Italian and very passionate about Russian lit and writes lovely poetry. Very technical too, if only I could too.

Even though I first thought he was a woman when he first started posting, Abdo is 'the man'. He is the most educated American I know, and I didn't think people like him existed in this world. He has good taste in music and television. He completely changed the way these forums work just by joining us, making it a much more casual, friendly, funnier but still 'intellectual' and literary atmosphere. He was like the Eminem of the forums, and for a long time, no one knew what to think of him, because he was weird, insulting, yet his knowledge appeared to be very broad. He contructs all of his posts in a clear, entertaining way, and always writes intelligently, and so now he's become much loved, by the looks of it.

Now I want to be complimented. I was coming home from a play rehearsal this morning, which I turned up to an hour early and left before it even started, and I was listening to that White Stripes song, 'Same Boy You've Always Known', and the last words were "If there's ever anything good about me / I'm the only one who knows". It's a nice, rare thing to be complimented, like an ego massage.

When I first met Munro I remember we had several heated arguments over George Orwell's influences and politics, &c. and, in the end, I had come off kind of insulting. I regret that. I see myself in Munro in so many different ways. We've kept in contact privately, and when I hear about his experiences with school, love and teenage-angst I get that familiar 'bittersweet nostalgic' feeling. He's just like I was at his age, only not so stuck up (he says he is snobbish, but I think that's just a clever ruse for his intelligence); but more than anything, he is just an all-around wonderful person. I probably haven't said that enough, though. So here's a little recognition, a little love, my friend, you deserve it.

My chum Abdo, the acerbic, the kind, the gifted, the contrarian.

He adds richness and depth to life. He offers bold streaks of strong color to our discourse, but also fills in the subtle shadings inbetween.

ihrocks is the sweet inteligent lady that always has the benefit of good advice to better the world. I feel like she's that teacher at school that makes the students learn better. She states her opinion with the delicacy that I wish I had. (I hate to feel that I may insult anyone, even unawares)

Shea is very passionate about her bible quotes, she knows it inside out. I haven't even read the whole thing, so I commend her on her knowledge and recall.

She also has a lot of patience, especially dealing with the likes of Abdo and some others around here...

Hm, den's kind of like that last cigarette in a pack, you know, the one you savor the most. She brings satisfaction to my life, even if only temporarily . . .

hmm.. well, abdo's posts are always interesting to read, flawlessly intelligent and sometimes amusing. hell, i respected his intellect even when he put up 'abdo's a ****ing *******' in the quotes forum. I don't think that's true- he seems like a nice guy (i'm assuming abdo's a male because munro referred to him as 'the man'). He could probably post up anything and people would still read it and reply. PLUS he's a SEINFELD fan. 'nuff said.

I'd like to see what you have to say about me, since when most ppl come across me they just think I'm downright weird.

Fayefaye, you're cool and you posted a lot here, and interesting stuff so this place is getting more and more lively.
(P.S. I need to know what that Seinfeld is...)

But I need to say something tonight:

    I love you all!

And I must say I agree on everything Munro said about Abdo...

Sorry fayefaye I spoiled your praise but I'm not goo at praising tho I really love you all

   *feels slightly pathetic tonight but you'd better take advantage of this moment of sweetness- just be careful the honey doesnt stick on your clothes!*
