    confused beyond belief

Ok, so my English teacher randomly gave us an essay to do on an extract from Shakespeare's Henry Vth, and I did it, and actually she said it was rather good, but said I should have wrote about the iambic pentameter and the use of blank verse. Trouble is I dont really know what they are as such, because I didnt get taught about them in my old school so pleeeeease help!! If anyone has any links to any websites then please do share, I've looked on some but couldn't find any actual explainations.
    thanks!

Iambic pentameter is a rhythmic form for poetry - it means there are five 'iambs' to a line.
An iamb is an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed one.
The phrase "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day is in iambic pentameter. (Underlined syllable stressed).
This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with force.

    Dear confused,

I am reading Henry V myself now.
It seems thatthe city of Lafleur had actually been destroyed although Shakespeare tells us otherwise.
Please allow me to help you avoid making mistakes: I should have writtten is the corect form.

    Yours truly,

    Piet van Genugten
