    Dragonlance: The Legend of Huma

My name is Ernst and I'm from Roaring Studios www.roaringstudios.com What I'm trying to do is to spread the word that my company is putting out Dragonlance comic books starting with the Legend of Huma. Here is a link to the press release:

    http://newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4734

I was hoping that the moderators could help me spread the word to the Dragonlance fans. Other boards have already started giving their support such as Dragonlance.com, Kencyclopedia and many others. I need to hear from the fans as to what exactly that they would like to see in the Legend of Huma. It is the first dragonlance novel that we are adapting and we want input from the fans.

How do you picture Magius? Do you think that the staff of Magius should look exactly as it does when Raistlin is in possession of it? Any thoughts on Wyrmfather? What of the young Cyan Bloodbane? Whatever questions, comments, suggestions, or ideas that you have for the Legend of Huma please feel free to post. I will take detailed notes answer any questions to the best of my abilities and make sure that the artists know what it is that the fans want. As we build this relationship when we go on to the other Dragonlance books it will be easier and more efficient for us to communicate with one another as the years go buy. We will be doing original stories, and we will also be doing new stories written by the authors as well, but for now let us take it one step at a time and focus on the Legend of Huma, please feel free to jump in and throw your ideas and thoughts at me and I will take all of it to the artists. One of the conversations started on dragonlance.com:

Thanks and hope to hear from all the fans so that you are able to participate in the production of the comic book.

    Why is Huma Blonde?

For Magius' staff, yes. Exactly as Raistlin has it.

I believe if I remember correctly Magius wears blue robes hemmed in golden-rune embroidery. He was also very "fancy" almost like a "prettyboy" "dandy" whatever you want to call it. He liked the finer things in life.

I've read the book probably 3 or 4 times, and personally own 30-40 Dragonlance books so I'm a big fan of the series.

I picture wyrmfather as a chinese like dragon, with a face like Smaug from The Hobbit (See the cartoon version or drawings by whatever that guy's name is). With the obviously white glazed eyes.

Gwenyth should be young and innocent looking when in human form. Not a demure seductress.

    re:

Actually, his hair is straw colored, but I will be sure to mention to the colorist to lean more towards brown then blond You are right Magius was very fancy and a prettyboy. He did wear blue but unfortunately it was not robes. He changed to red robes in the middle of the book and then to white robes at the end of the book. I'm happy that I found another Dragonlance fan. Oh you can see a picture of Magius on this site:

If you go to that link that I gave you, you would have a chance to post there and speak your mind that you want to see Wyrmfather as a chinese dragons, because some fans see him as a western dragon but more snake-like. So don't forget to speak your mind on the post. Definitely Gwyneth will be young and innocent Thanks and please spread the word to all the other Dragonlance fans out there

    I think Kaz looks short/small.

Maybe its because his head is so large or something, but he look slike a runt, or is that just the comic book style?

Shouldn't Huma have dark curly hair? I also think the book said he was going "prematurly gray." I'm also pretty sure that Huma's armor was very utilitarian, not ornate like in your drawing. I like your Magius sketchs a lot they are almost exactly how I pictured him, but Kaz should probably be much broader and his head should be large, even in comparsion to the size of his body. I'd also like to see your drawings of Rennard, Galen, Gwyneth, and Cyrus.

    Re:

Admin, I see your concern, and I will keep that in mind when I speak to the artist about Kaz. Thanks for taking the time to mention this to me.

MdaCruz: We do have the prematurely gray hair and mustache but it is difficult to see it in the colored picture above. Yes, Huma's armor will not be as nice as Lord Oswal's armor, good point. Oh below is a character sketch of Rennard as you had requested, enjoy and all of your inputs, comments, and questions are encouraged

He seems a little skinny and young to me. I don't know if in the book he is described as skinny but I always pictured him with a little paunch.

Thanks for sending the sketchs, although the blonde hair thing is still bothering me a bit, I like your Rennard a lot, although color (or lack there of) will be very important to making his character look right. I also think your Lord Oswal is very impressive, although a slightly more weathered look might be appropriate, after all his is an ancient and battle-hardened campaigner, blah, blah, etc.
