This is truly an outstanding history and for me, as enjoyable as any of the Bard's other works. Great writing, particularly in the scenes between the 'Bastard' and Hubert regarding the death of the young prince. I wasn't as familiar with this play as some of the other 'mega-hits' and found it absolutely brilliant. Read it NOW.

Agreed. I once had a chance to play Hubert while my daughter, then 10, played Prince Arthur. That is a tear-jerker of a scene -- Shake. wrote one of his more powerful classic acting scenes, subtle persuasion, begging, pleading. Takes the audience to the brink of danger and disaster and them brings them back.

Personally, I really like the partial-comedic, but deadly serious, church guy -- Pandolph. He's a dangerous piece of confidence and power.

I agree, a wordy play without swordfights, but very lively.
